Incredible Space Maximization in a Small Studio Apartment

You’ve seen a lot of ingenious ideas on how to decorate small studio apartments on Freshome. Here is another tiny apartment that manages to maximize space and create a cozy living environment as well. The East Village Studio Apartment comes from JPDA Architects, stretches over an area of 46 square meters (500 square feet) and was built as a little “nest” for the owners who also work here. It has all the utilities a common looking contemporary home has and dare we say a lot more. This original crib has storage space and shelves in the most unusual and unexpected places, reducing clutter and contributing to a clean and fresh interior design. The wood gives this home its warmth which is “intensified” by the friendly vegetation pots spread around the open studio. -via freshome

I love real estate stalking. By lurking online I find fabulous houses that I could never see inside in real life and sometimes, just sometimes I stumble across something very special to me. I've stalked my favourite kitchen. Ever since I saw the Prue Ruscoe photo above in Inside Out magazine many years ago I was smitten. This was it. This was the kitchen of my dreams. Just a tight shot. No real idea what the space was truly like but it didn't matter. My imagination filled in the rest of the space. Except for a few props used for the shoot this is the house in my imagination. This is the house come to life. Except for the bathroom. That's beyond my dreams. I'm moving in as soon as I can rob a bank. I even still love the kitchen in its pared back state. Contemporary home with water views. That's how the real estate ad should go. It would if I was writing it. Real estate stalking the suburbs of Melbourne. A clean contemporary look. A modern home for a modern family. This is one home I think would look great in a magazine shoot. I'm sure a good photographer and stylist could make this hoe look so much more inviting. Inspiring All-In-One-Room Apartment in Stockholm

After having a look at the photos taken in this lovely Scandinavian crib, one can only guess the last thing this apartment lacks is space. You will probably be pleasantly surprised to know that in fact, the total surface of this one room home is 44 square meters. Located in Vasastan, Stockholm, this bright and cozy studio seems to have it all: a delightful contemporary design, function and an overall welcoming atmosphere. According to Alvhem Makleri & Interior, this is an apartment that exudes peace and tranquility. The living room is a bright and social space with openness to both the kitchen and sleeping area. Large glass walls dissolve the border between inside and outside allowing natural light to reign. We are certain you already noticed the alcove, large enough for a king-sized bed. This may be a small apartment, but the design approach used to enhance it inspires only “over-sized” ideas.
